Cookies & local storage.

TraderTalk uses a small number of cookies and one local-storage entry to keep you signed in and remember your theme preference. We do not run advertising trackers and we don't embed third-party analytics cookies.

What we use

Essential cookies

authjs.session-token

Set when you sign in. Keeps you signed in across page loads. First-party, HTTP-only, secure. Expires after 30 days of inactivity.

authjs.csrf-token

Used to protect the sign-in flow against cross-site request forgery. First-party, HTTP-only.

authjs.callback-url

Stores the URL to return to after sign-in. First-party, short-lived.

These are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Without them, sign-in would not work. They are not used for tracking or advertising.

Local storage

tt-theme

Stores your theme preference (light, dark, or system). Lives only in your browser, never sent to our servers. Used to apply the right theme before first paint to avoid a colour flash.

Analytics & attribution (consent-gated)

tt-attr

First-touch attribution cookie. Stores UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, etc.) and the referring URL when you first land on the site, so we can credit the correct ad campaign for your signup. First-party. Stays for 1 year. Never sent to third parties.

Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*)

Loaded only after you accept the cookie banner. Used to measure aggregate site usage (page views, custom events like signup_started and vote_cast). We use Google Consent Mode v2 — until you accept, no analytics cookies are written. If you reject, no analytics cookies are written, ever, on your device.

tt-consent

Stores your cookie-banner choice (granted / denied) in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit.

What we do not use

• No advertising cookies. We don't run third-party ad networks on the site.
• No social-media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Twitter conversion, etc.) on the application itself. Marketing landing pages on third-party platforms may use pixels owned by those platforms — that's outside our scope.
• No fingerprinting.

Server logs

Independent of cookies, our servers log basic request information (IP address, user-agent, request path, timestamp) for security and debugging. These are kept for 30 days. See the privacy policy for details.

Controlling cookies

You can clear all TraderTalk cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time — doing so will sign you out and reset your theme preference to system. You may also block cookies entirely in your browser, but the Service requires the essential cookies listed above to sign in.

Changes

If we change which cookies the Service uses, we'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date. For any change that adds tracking or advertising cookies, we'll show a consent banner before setting them.
